Casio Baby-G Model Reviews

  1. Coming Soon - The BGD560WL Baby-G Kids Watches

Welcome back to our blog! Today, I'll be highlighting an EXCLUSIVE to BuyWatchesOnline watch series, the BGD560WL! As of this writing, we are the first sellers in Australia to get our hands on this series, and after playing around with them for a bit, we can tell both kids and some kids at heart, will love them! Ready? Let's Get To It!

    BGD560WL-2

First up is the BGD-560WL-2D. The band is a dark, purplish blue, with purple writing at the top and bottom of the bezel. If you look at the outer pictures just before the digital display, you'll notice snow flakes, and the colours themselves remind you of the progression of light throughout the day, when you're at the mountains, or anywhere there's snow (definitely brought up a lot of fun memories for me). The display is fully digital, which means when you turn on the backlight, the entire screen lights up.

    BGD560WL-4

Next up is the BGD560WL-4D. Now, this one is PERFECT for the little princesses. It's a transparent pink, with shades of early morning surrounding the digital display. The numbers are large enough that even if you have bad eyesight, you'll easily be able to see the time.

    BGD560WL-7

Finally, we have the BGD560WL-7D. If the other two were watches mostly aimed for girls, the 7D is more unisex. The band is off white, like partially melted snow, and the background surrounding the digital display looks a lot like mid day sky, with the snow falling almost into the screen.

So, we've talked about the looks, but what does this watch have to offer?

Well, first up, as mentioned from the start, it's fully digital. Why should that matter? Because unlike ana/digi combos, the backlight light up the entire display at night. That's one of the main issues people have with combo watches, so a digital watch is perfect for this.

The large display area also means there's no need for annoying, complicated dials, it's a very simple screen with the day, date and time all showing on the screen in clear writing. You can even press a button and change it to the date instead of time.

The watch is 200m water resistant, so you can go swimming with it. Great if you don't want to take it off, but make sure you don't press any buttons until you're back on dry land, and the watch is dry as well. If you want to see the time under water (hopefully you have goggles on already), you can just turn on the Auto LED light before you dive in. Then, when you move your wrist to a 45 degree angle, the light will automatically come on.

Weighing only 44g, this is a light weight watch, perfect for kids (and the snow theme means it's a great Christmas present!) It's coming soon, to BuyWatchesOnline

And speaking of Christmas, don't hesitate to take advantage of our special offer! Use the code BWOXTENDXX for $20 off every watch in the cart, as well as 3 years extended warranty. And by $20 off each watch I mean- EACH WATCH, not just $20 off the total!

  2. Coming Soon - The Casio Baby-G BA130CV Series

Welcome back everyone, to our blog, and today I'll be spotlighting a brand new addition to the BA130 Series, the Casio BA-130VC Baby-G watch! These watches look great on your wrist, and they definitely stand out from the crowd! Ready? Here We Go!

    BA-130CV-2

First up is the BA130VC-2A. This watch has a transparent blue band, which matches the look on the inside of the watch. It's a mixture of light and slightly darker shades of blue, and even the background of the digital screen matches. On the bottom of the band, you can see Catch The Vibe, a slogan that embodies the Hip Hop culture of the 90s and early 2000s, and it's one that Riehata (Casio's partner in this venture) takes to heart.

    130CV-4

Then we have the BA130VC-4A. This one is a flowery pink, with the differing shades and hour markers making it look more like a flower than most watches. A great gift for birthdays, Christmas or Valentine's day if you want to give her something unique!

    BA-130CVG-7A

Finally, we have the BA130CVG-7A. In case you didn't figure it out by looking at it, the G stands for gold, and this off-white and gold watch definitely knows just how to show itself off! the background, hands and hour markers are gold, as is the Baby-G logo on the transparent band.

So now that we've seen what the watches look like, just what is it that they do? Well, first up it seems Casio has listened when customers complained that the darker digital screens are hard to read, because they did away with those completely. The background may be different shades of blue, pink or grey, but the numbers are still easy to see.

The hands and hour markers are covered in a neobrite material, making them glow in the dark with just a minimal exposure to light. This is perfect for seeing the time at night.

The great thing about Casio watches is not just the amount of features they have, but also their durability. These watches are shock resistant, meaning even if you throw them, the internal functions will still operate. They are also 100m water resistant, though I would recommend against taking a shower with them or running tap water on them, because that weakens the seal.

The BA130CV series is Coming Soon to BuyWatchesOnline!

Until Next Time - Jimmy B

  5. Introducing The Casio 110CR Series!

Perfect for Couples, Introducing the Casio 110CR Series.

If you and our partner like to go out, you know how important it can be to match. Well, Casio has come out with the 110CR series, which will definitely make things easier. Introducing the Casio GA (AND BA)110CR Series. A series of transparent watches that are made for both men and women (with the BA-110 series, it can also be used by boys, as there are no obviously female colours). Let’s see what we’ve got!

These watches are the result of a partnership between Casio and Aqua Planet, so that’s why each of these watches have a shimmering, sea like quality to them.

    ga-110cr-2aba-110cr-2a

First up, the 110CR-2A. Both the Baby-G BA110CR and the G-Shock GA110CR have a dark, transparent blue band, as well as bezel. This surround a dark, negative display that’s a combination of analogue and digital. The added benefit of having both displays is that they’re much larger than watches with only one type of display.

    ga-110cr-4a ba-110cr-4a

Next up, we have the 110CR-4A. This one looks almost identical to the 2A except it’s more of a dark, transparent red. Inside the display, it’s again light numbers on a dark background, with the hands also being white, making it easier to read the analogue time.

    ba-110cr-7a ga-110cr-7a

If you’re not a fan of the negative displays, then you’ll be after the 110CR-7A. This is a transparent white band and bezel, with a regular analogue/digital combo display. For some people, that’s actually a lot easier to read. The hands and hour markers are tipped black and grey in order to make them stand out even more, and make it easy to read.

Now let’s get to the features. Before we go on, I should warn you that there are 3 key differences between the BA110CR and the GA110CR series. Firstly, the Baby-G models are 100m water resistant, while the GA110CR is 200m. Secondly, the GA110CR is also resistant to magnetic frequencies. Finally, the GA110CR’s stopwatch measures at 1/1000-sec increments, making it just a little more accurate if you enjoy running.

One additional feature in the G-Shocks is actually tied into the stopwatch, because with the 1/1000-sec measurement, you can also use it to get a speed estimate. If you like running, that’s great to use.

At night, it will be hard to see the digital time, but that’s not the case for the analogue display. That’s because the hands and hour markers on both the Baby-G and the G-Shock are covered with a neobrite substance, making them not only glow after being exposed to light, but actually stay glowing for hours.

The BA110CR and GA110CRs are now available at BuyWatchesOnline! Check out the rest of our 110 series here. Until Next Time - Jimmy B

  6. Top Ten Casio Baby-Gs for the Summer

Summer in Australia can get REALLY hot! You don't want to be going around with a heavy watch, and there are some things that you can't do in the winter. With that in mind, here are the top 10 Baby-Gs to wear in the summer!

    10) BGA-190-1B - Let's face it, when it's too hot, you want to leave and travel somewhere with a cooler climate. This watch is perfect, it has 2 analogue displays letting you see the time in your home city, and wherever you plan on going. The background looks like a world map, accentuating the travel motif

    bga190-1b_xlarge

    9) BGA-190BE-4A - This light pink watch is does share similarities to the BGA-190, but it was specifically designed for the beach. The background motif looks like there are diamonds surrounding the display, and the unique colouring helps protect the band when you sweat.

    bga190be-4a

    8) BGA-180BE-2B - This one is for all you surfers out there. The BGA-180BE is light blue (so can easily be worn by men with smaller wrists too), and has a tide graph, as well as a tide trend indicator. This'll allow you to measure what the tide looks like now, and potentially for the next 12 hours, helping you avoid those wipeouts.

    bga180be-2b

    7) BA-110BE-7A - Part of the ever popular BA-110 range, this analogue/digital combo watch is one of the most basic models in the range, but if you just want to laze around and sunbake, you'll easily fit right in with this white and blue model (boys too). The digital time is at the bottom, with the day and date at the top, making it easier to read.

    ba110be-7a

    6) BG-169R-2B - One of the all time classics, this series was one of the first in the Baby-G range. Fully digital, weighs only 43g, and it has a mode called Databank, which allows you to save phone numbers straight into the watch. Perfect if you want to free up space in your phone.

    bg169r-2b_xlarge (1)

    5) BGA-190BC-4B - this travellers watch offers the same map motif that was so popular, and colours the whole background pink. It fits in when you're out on the beach, and it looks great for girls and women alike. Stands out without being too bright.

    bga-190bc-4b

    4) BGA-225-7A - The Glamping series is new but also took off quicker than anybody thought it would! It's got a unique diamond-like bezel shape, and a bigger case to help you see the time. It's an ana-digi combo watch with an added tide graph for those who like to surf. The hands and hour markers are also extra-large to help you see the time.

    bga225-7a (1)

    3) BA-110DC-2A3 - If you don't like the way resin bands look on your wrist, you're not the only ones. That's why Casio came up with the Denim/Resin band for this watch. At first glance (and even up close) it looks like a denim fabric band, but in actual fact it's still the damage resistant resin.

    ba-110dc-2a3

    2) BGA-150EF-4B - Another one to wear to the beach, this pink watch takes its cues from the classic BGA-151-7B, with extra-large analogue numbers and hands making it easy to see the time, and 100m water resistance letting you swim without needing to take the watch off.

    bga-150ef-4b_large

    1) BG-6903-1 - One of our most popular running models, the BG-6903 is fully digital with an extra-large display screen split into two, so you can pay attention to the stopwatch as well without needing to slow down. Great for jogs along the beach it's light at only 47g

    bg-6903-1_l_2

There you have it, these watches are the most popular we sell for the summer. Happy shopping.

  7. Summer Highlight: The Casio Baby-G BA-110CF Series

Summer Time, it can get REALLY hot, and all you want to do is go sunbaking. Well, Casio has you covered with the rerelease of the Baby-G BA110CF series! Even better, we've got them in stock and ready for you! Want to see what all the fuss is about? Let's get to it!

First up is the BA-110CF-1A. This is mostly black, but with blue flowers throughout the band. Now, these flowers are blue, so if you go on vacation in Hawaii, and you're a guy, you can also wear the watch without being embarrassed.
    ba-110cf-1a
Under the mineral glass, the hands and hour markers are extra thick, and a mixture of black and grey, which makes them easily seen on the light blue background, so you're able to see the analogue time. The digital display is also well lit, with the day in the top window, and time at the bottom.

Then we have the BA110CF-7A. Now, while the black watch could have passed for a boy's model, the white and pink BA-110CF-7A is definitely for the girls. As mentioned, it's mostly white, with the band being covered by both pink flowers as well as grey ones for some variety.
    ba-110cf-7a
The display is extra-large letting you see both the analogue and digital display. The analogue hands are thick and black, while the hour markers are white, all on a pink background, which will draw your eyes and make it easier to see the analogue time. The digital display is identical to the 110CF-1A so you shouldn't have any problems reading the time.

So that's what the watches look like, but how do they perform? Well, let's find out!

Now, as you may have guessed by the model number, the BA110CFs are a version of the BA-110 series, and they keep all of the essential functions. First off, the hands and hour markers are covered with a neobrite solution, so if it gets too dark, press the backlight button, and the hands and hour markers will start glowing even after the backlight turns off.

The BA-110CF series is one of the most lightweight models, weighing only 45g, so they're easy on your wrist, and won't weigh you down when you run/jog. They're also 100M water resistant, so you can swim with them as long as you don't press any buttons while you're submerged.

Unlike my previous columns, these watches aren't coming soon, they already HERE! So click here for the 110CF-1A and here for the 110CF-7A

Until Next Time - Jimmy B

  8. Coming Soon: The Casio Baby-G BSA-B100 Series (First Baby-G Bluetooth!)

Now that the BGS-100 series has been out for a while (and boy we had no idea just how popular they’d turn out to be!), Casio has decided to up the ante, by introducing a feature that’s been requested for a long time - Bluetooth! That’s right, for the first time, a Casio Baby-G has Bluetooth capabilities! We’ll talk about that in a little bit, but for now, let’s see just what these watches look like.

    BSA-B100-1A

First up, the BSA-B100-1A. Now, unlike the BGS model, this watch is completely black. Everything from the bezel to the background is dark apart from the hands, and some writing on the watch and inside the display. You’ll also notice there’s a new dial between the 1 and 2 hour markers, which is your step graph. The circular digital display uses all of its size to give you a larger readout.

    BSA-B100-2A

Next up, we’ve got the dark blue BSA-B100-2A. As you can guess, the band and bezel are blue. Inside, the analogue hands and hour markers are actually rose gold, making it easy to read the analogue time. Again, this model has a negative display, which is light numbers on a black background.

    BSA-B100-4A1

Moving on there’s the BSAB100-4A1. A beige coloured model, this combo watch has a regular display, so if you didn’t like the negative screen, you’ve got a pretty viable alternative. As with the blue watch, the analogue hands and hour markers are a beige/rose gold colour.

    BSA-B100-4A2

If you’re a girl or looking to buy a present for a girl, then the BSAB100-4A2 might be your best bet. This one is pink with just a hint of purple.

    BSA-B100-7A

Finally we have the all white BSAB100-7A. The band and background are so white that from an angle it looks like they shine.

Well, that’s the looks out of the way, time for the features!

For the first time ever, Casio has come out with a Baby-G that has Bluetooth! Finally on par with the GBA-800 series, you’ll now have more flexibility than ever before. You can use the Bluetooth feature to set the time/alarm on your watch through your phone, as well as downloading your lap data (a massive 200 compared to the 30 of the BGS-100.

The BSAB100 even has a feature that isn’t yet available on its G-Shock counterpart - the step reminder function. If you’re in the steps mode, and the watch notices that you haven’t moved for a while (or if you’re behind on your goal step counts for the day), the watch will beep and send a message to your screen in order to remind you.

Well, that’s it for today’s column. The BSAB100 Series is Coming Soon to BuyWatchesOnline. In the meantime check out our other step trackers Here and Here.

Until Next Time - Jimmy B
