  1. Coming Soon - The Casio G-Shock Skeleton Series!

Just in time for Halloween, Casio will be releasing some spooky watches with a skeleton motif! Hold on to your Scooby Snacks while we explore this haunting collection!

    GA700SK-1A

First up is the GA700SK-1A and here’s where the first difference is noticeable right away. Instead of having a black band (like all the other 1A watches do), this is more grey and transparent, keeping up with the ghost motif. Inside the display, there are many shades of grey, from the hands to the hour markers, to the digital text being grey on a black background.

    GA400sk-1a4

Next up we have the GA400SK-1A4. Now, this one does not look as spooky, thanks to its pink bezel, but it does give one advantage to girls/women who have bigger wrists. This watch is made especially for them. This watch keeps the transparent band, though darkens it to make it look as black as you’d expect from a 1A model. The background and bezel however, are pink. This also includes the hands and hour markers. The bright pink actually makes it easier to tell the time, and the digital screen is much bigger, compared to the GA700SK.

    ga400sk-1a9 (1)

Finally we have the GA400SK-1A9. If the 700SK was grey, this one is a ghostly white and completely transparent. The writing on the bezel, and the bezel itself is shades of yellow and green. The hands and hour markers are also yellow, to make them easy to read. Best of all (at least for people who don’t like negative displays), this watch has the regular black on white screen, which is, to some people, easier to read.

Still with me gang? Great, let’s have a look at all the features. Now, if you’ve been following our store, you’ll be familiar with the GA700 series. Considered the top athlete watch until the GA800 came out, one of the most sought after features is the super LED Light. See, with a lot of other ana/digi combos, the backlight only lights up the analogue part, but the super LED Light illuminates the entire screen, making it easier to see the time.

Another great feature is the direct start stopwatch. Before the GA500 and GA700 came along, you’d need to go to a new mode to set up and start your stopwatch, which can get annoying for both trainers, and people training. The GA700, and its SK counterpart, decided to simplify things by adding the start button on the bottom right of your watch. Simply press the button and the watch gets straight into the stopwatch mode. Press it again and it starts! Simple.

Here’s where the GA700 stepped it up though. Not only is it really easy to find and use the stopwatch, they also included a stopwatch alarm. Basically, you can put the time you’re aiming for, start the stopwatch, and if you run slower than you intended to, it’ll start beeping. This is a great feature, especially for athletes!

Well that’s the GA700SK, but let’s see what the GA400SK has in store for us. First up, you’ll notice the rotary wheel on the right of the watch. From the start, you can use it to set your home city without needing to go into the modes. When you’re setting the time, or alarm, instead of using the buttons, you can just use the rotary wheel, which makes things easier.

Apart from having the popular Super LED Light, the watch also has another important feature called Hand Shift. Some people prefer to read the digital time instead of the analogue, but as you can imagine, some hours of the day the hands can cover the digital time. With this Hand Shift feature, you can move the analogue hands out of the way. Then once you’re done, press the button again and the hands go exactly where they were meant to.

One big advantage the GA400 series does have over the GA700 is the magnetic resistance. If you’re in an area with lots of magnetic waves, it can sometimes interfere with the analogue hands, so you get discrepancies between the analogue and digital time. The Magnetic resistance prevents this from happening.

The GA400SK and GA700SK are coming soon to BuyWatchesOnline! Until Next Time - Jimmy B

  2. Coming Soon, the First Casio Smart Protrek Outdoor Watch, WSD-F20A-GN

Casio’s had fitness watches, camping watches, even pilot watches, but one thing that’s always been missing is the Smart Watch. Well, very soon this is going to change! Welcome to our blog, and today, I’ll be looking at the WSDF20A-GN. Ready? Let’s Get To It!

First up, I do have to be the bearer of some bad news. Due to this being a smart watch, it’s not as water resistant as others and can only withstand 50m of water pressure. But let’s face it, you don’t get a smart watch to go swimming with it! So, let’s see what it looks like.

    casio-pro-trek-wsd-f20a-gnbae-9776262

The watch has a black outline with an olive green band. On top of the bezel it has Pro Trek, in orange, with other tools including GPS (for the first time ever!), tool and sensor. The display itself is not just fully digital, it’s actually an LCD Display, like you’d see on your monitors or on the smart watches. This makes it a lot easier to see the time, day or night (something that most of our customers have been clamoring for). Heck, you can even change the colour of the numbers to make them easier to read.

There’s not much more to say about the looks, so let’s get into the features, and boy there’s a lot to unpack. First up, this is the first watch to use Google Wear OS (specifically designed for watches). This means you can link the watch to your android phone. Now, I know that might not seem like much (The GBA and GBD Casio models can do the same), but being developed by Google means you can also see your notifications, emails, SMSes, straight on your screen, and that’s not mentioning the original benefits of setting the time on your watch straight through your phone!

Another really great feature (and one heavily requested by our customers) is a GPS. You’ll be able to see EXACTLY where you are on the map, so there’s even less of a chance for you to be lost when hiking. Just take a look at the clarity of the map below.

The watch also has an onboard Microphone, so you can talk to the Google assistant and bring up the features without needing to scroll through them. Being developed by Google also means you can go into the app store and download any newer apps that you’d need. You can even ask for the weather, and it’ll show up straight on your screen.

Just quickly going back to the smart part of the watch, you can use a touch keyboard, or the microphone to respond to any SMS, write a FaceBook post, pretty much whatever you normally use your phone for.

By combining the features of a smart watch with the outdoor tools on normal SportTrek watches, these tools have actually been improved. The Altimeter brings up easy to read information on how long you have to go to reach the summit, the compass works with the above mentioned GPS, and through combining the GPS, compass and Google Calendar, you can actually be guided to your next destination!

I do have one more piece of good news for you though! If you don't want to wait for a GPS watch, we recently acquired the Rangeman GPRB-1000-1B (which I'll cover more in depth next week!)

The Smart WSD-F20 will only be available for a limited time, and is coming soon to BuyWatchesOnline.com.au

  3. Coming Soon - The Casio G-Shock AR Series

Coming Soon, the Casio G-Shock AR Series

Welcome back Casio Watch Hunters! Today I’ll be highlighting the all new AR Series from G-Shock. These are black with a red background, and there’s something for everyone here. Ready? Let’s get to it!

    GA-140AR-1A_l

First up is the GA-140AR-1A. This is based on the GA140 series. This analogue and digital combo watch puts more of its emphasis on the analogue. The band, bezel, and the writing on said bezel are completely black. Under the mineral glass display, the background is bright red, matching the hands and hour markers. The date is in a circle at the top, and the digital time is at the bottom. Both digital displays are what’s known as negative displays, with white numbers/letters on a black background.

    GA-700AR-1A_l

Next up we have the GA-700AR-1A. This one is based on the popular Athletic GA-700 series. Whereas the previous model was more analogue, this one focuses on the digital aspect, with the digital time prominently placed at the bottom of the display. Again the band is completely black, and the background is red, to match the analogue hands and hour markers.

    GAS-100AR-1A_l

Finally, we have the GAS-100AR-1A. This is based on Casio’s GAS-100 series, which combines old looks with new technology (more on that in a little bit). As with the 140 series, the GAS-100 puts more emphasis on the analogue part, with the hour markers looking more prominent, making them easier to see. The background is red, with the date, time, seconds counter and day in seperate circles with a negative display.

So, now that we’ve finished with the looks, let’s see what they have to offer!

First up is the GA140AR-1A. One of the biggest complaints Casio has received about their analogue/digital combo watches is it’s almost impossible to see the digital time at night. To fix that issue, the GA140AR-1A has a Super LED Light which is much more powerful than you’d see in most combo watches.

The GA100 and GA110 watches had a very popular feature called a 1/1000-sec stopwatch. That is considered so accurate, they even use those stopwatches to judge at the Olympic Games. Due to this popularity, Casio ensured the GA140s would also have the same powerful stopwatch. This has the added benefit of introducing a feature to allow you to time just how fast you’re going.

Moving on to the GA700AR-1A, this series is marketed towards those who enjoy staying fit. One of the main features to help you with that is the Direct Start stopwatch. Basically, just as it sounds, you can start the stopwatch from the main timing screen, meaning you don’t have to go scrolling through the modes to get to the correct one.

As with the GA140AR, the GA700AR has a super LED display, making it easier to see the time in the dark. Apart from that, there’s also a feature called Hand Shift. If you’re unfamiliar with it, let me explain how this works. If you’re out training and you notice that the hands are covering the digital time, you can turn on the feature and it will move the hands to the 12 o’clock position, giving you and unobstructed view. Once you’re done, simply get out of the mode, and the hands will go exactly where they’re supposed to.

Finally, the GAS100AR-1A. This is a watch that, at first glance, looks exactly like the old AW-590/591 series. As mentioned earlier though, the hands and hour markers are much easier to see. Another difference is, unlike the AW590 series, this watch is solar powered, so as long as you have the watch facing the light every few weeks/months, you’ll never have to worry about changing the batteries!

As with the other two models, this watch has a Dual/Super LED Light, so even at night, you’ll be able to see the digital time.

The Casio G-Shock AR Series is Coming Soon to BuyWatchesOnline

As a special treat for reading through this article, when you are at the checkout screen, use the code BWOXTENDXX for $20 off and 3 years Extended Warranty! 4. Introducing the Casio G-Shock Rasta Series

Casio watches are enjoyed worldwide, so it's little wonder that there are models specifically based on either popular cultures, races or even collaborations you'd never think you'd see (Looking at you Big Mac G-Shock)... Welcome to the preview column, and today we'll be highlighting the G-Shock Rasta Series, based on the vibrant Rastafarian community and Jamaican culture. Ready? Let's get to it!

    dw-5600cma-9

First up is the DW-5600CMA-9D. Based on the classic DW-5600 series, this is a vibrant digital watch. The band is a mixture of Red, Yellow and Blue, a parallel to the colourful culture. Inside the display, the numbers are extra-large, making it easy to read the time.

Next, sticking with the digital theme, we have the 5600CMB-1. This is a darker model, with the bright colours reserved for the inside of the band (a bright, sky blue). As with the 9D, this watch is fully digital, making it perfect for those with lousy eyesight, or those of you who just want a retro, classic looking watch.

    dw-5600cmb-1

Moving on from the classics, we have the GA400CM series, starting with the GA-400CM-1A. This series takes its design from the GA400CM series, incorporating some of the cool features developed there (which we'll talk about later on). With regards to the looks, the outside is grey/black, with a mixture of red, yellow and blue sprinkled throughout, and a bright neon red on the inside of the band. This is an analogue/digital combo, with an extra-large display so you can read the screen easily. The digital display is what's known as a Negative Screen, which means the numbers are light, while the screen is dark.

    ga-400cm-1a

Finally, we have the GA-400CM-4A, which is a mixture of salmon red, yellow, as well as a sky blue inside the band. The analogue hands are a mixture of blue and red, while the hour marks are bright yellow, which will really help when reading the analogue part of the watch. If you weren't a fan of the negative display, you can breathe a sigh of relief, because the 4A has a regular display.

    ga-400cm-4a

So, that's the looks done, let's talk features! First up, let's look at the 5600CM series.

Now, I've already mentioned that the watches are fully digital. What I haven't mentioned is why it's so important. See, with an ana/digi combo, some people complain that the backlight only lights up the analogue hands, while they want to read the digital display. With a fully digital screen, you when you press the backlight button, the entire screen lights up, making it easier to read the time whether at night, or in the afternoon if there's glare hitting the display.

Another interesting feature of the 5600 series is the auto repeat function. That means, you can set your alarm to always start beeping at the exact same time every day (helpful if you need to take meds.

Moving on to the GA400CM as mentioned that's got quite a few tricks up its sleeve. You notice that rotary switch on the right? That's for those of you who don't like pushing the mode button all the time in order to get to the right function. Simply move the switch up or down to quickly get to your desired function.

Another cool feature is the hand shift. Basically, if your nalogue hands start blocking the digital display, simply use the hand shift feature to move them away, so you can read the digital window. Once you're done, simply turn that feature off, and the hands will move back to where they were supposed to be.

There you have it. The Rasta series is coming soon, to BuyWatchesOnline.

Until Next Time - Jimmy B

  5. Going Retro With the Casio Baby-G BA110NR Series

Ladies and Gentlemen, cast your minds back to the good old 90s! When Casette tapes were still all the rage, and aliens could be killed by uploading a virus into their computers (Oops! Independence Day Spoilers). It's these happy times that Casio is hoping you'll remember, when you see the BA110NR Baby-G series. Let's take a closer look at these two models!

First up, we've got the BA-110NR-1A. This groovy watch is black, with orange writing above the buttons (apart from Baby-G, which is white). said buttons are extra-large making them easy to press at night when you don't have much light.

    BA-110nr-1a

Inside the display, it's even more colourful. the hands are gold and orange, the hour markers are thick and green, while the analogue background is a mixture of light and dark blue. All in all, it's a watch that's pretty much impossible to lose!

Then we've got its polar opposite, the grey BA-110NR--8A. This one is grey with pink writing. inside the display you have pink hour markers, pink and grey halnds and gears, and a bluish pink analogue outline.

    BA-110NR-8A

These watches are based on the GA-110 series, so the display and case are a bit larger than average, without being too oversized. They're analogue/digital so if you have trouble seeing the analogue hands, just look at the digital display, and vice versa.

So, now that you've got a visual in your head, let's talk about the features.

Well, first off, you know it's a Casio, so it's extra-tough! you have shock resistance in case you drop the watch, and if you like swimming, keep the watch on and dive up to 100m. As long as you don't press any buttons while you're submerged, the watch can handle pretty much anything!

There have been people concerned with the visibility of the hands, especially when it's late at night. Well, let me put those fears to rest. The analogue hands and hour markers are covered in a substance called Neobrite, which glows when it comes into contact with light. So simply turn on the backlight for a few seconds, and even after it's turned off, you'll still be able to see the analogue display.

If you've got a busy schedule every day, one of the things you'll absolutely love is the 5 daily alarms. You can set them to go off at specific times of day so you'll be reminded if you need to go to a meeting, or take medications, you can program up to five tones for each occasion.

Time to get Jiggy With it! The BA110NR series is coming soon to BuyWatchesOnline

  6. Coming Soon: The Casio Baby-G BSA-B100 Series (First Baby-G Bluetooth!)

Now that the BGS-100 series has been out for a while (and boy we had no idea just how popular they’d turn out to be!), Casio has decided to up the ante, by introducing a feature that’s been requested for a long time - Bluetooth! That’s right, for the first time, a Casio Baby-G has Bluetooth capabilities! We’ll talk about that in a little bit, but for now, let’s see just what these watches look like.

    BSA-B100-1A

First up, the BSA-B100-1A. Now, unlike the BGS model, this watch is completely black. Everything from the bezel to the background is dark apart from the hands, and some writing on the watch and inside the display. You’ll also notice there’s a new dial between the 1 and 2 hour markers, which is your step graph. The circular digital display uses all of its size to give you a larger readout.

    BSA-B100-2A

Next up, we’ve got the dark blue BSA-B100-2A. As you can guess, the band and bezel are blue. Inside, the analogue hands and hour markers are actually rose gold, making it easy to read the analogue time. Again, this model has a negative display, which is light numbers on a black background.

    BSA-B100-4A1

Moving on there’s the BSAB100-4A1. A beige coloured model, this combo watch has a regular display, so if you didn’t like the negative screen, you’ve got a pretty viable alternative. As with the blue watch, the analogue hands and hour markers are a beige/rose gold colour.

    BSA-B100-4A2

If you’re a girl or looking to buy a present for a girl, then the BSAB100-4A2 might be your best bet. This one is pink with just a hint of purple.

    BSA-B100-7A

Finally we have the all white BSAB100-7A. The band and background are so white that from an angle it looks like they shine.

Well, that’s the looks out of the way, time for the features!

For the first time ever, Casio has come out with a Baby-G that has Bluetooth! Finally on par with the GBA-800 series, you’ll now have more flexibility than ever before. You can use the Bluetooth feature to set the time/alarm on your watch through your phone, as well as downloading your lap data (a massive 200 compared to the 30 of the BGS-100.

The BSAB100 even has a feature that isn’t yet available on its G-Shock counterpart - the step reminder function. If you’re in the steps mode, and the watch notices that you haven’t moved for a while (or if you’re behind on your goal step counts for the day), the watch will beep and send a message to your screen in order to remind you.

Well, that’s it for today’s column. The BSAB100 Series is Coming Soon to BuyWatchesOnline. In the meantime check out our other step trackers Here and Here.

Until Next Time - Jimmy B

  7. Introducing the GRB-100 Casio Gravity Master Series!

Introducing the Casio G-Shock Gravity Master GRB100 Series

Welcome back to our preview column. Today,  I'll be telling you about the all new addition to the Gravitymaster, Master of G watch, the GRB100. This series comes in three colours, and has plenty of new features not just for pilots, but for anybody interested in a long lasting watch. Ready to see what the fuss is about? Let's get to it!

    GRB-100-1A2

Alright, first up is the GRB100-1A2. This is black with a blue,  Ion plated bezel for added protection to the display. The band is dual coloured, with black on the outside, and blue on the inside. In the display, you have extra-large, light blue hands and hour markers to help you read the analogue time. The digital time is in a cockpit like display, adding to the aviation motif. It is a negative display watch, so you'll have blue numbers on a black display.

    GRB-100-1A3

Next up is the GRB100-1A3. This one is black on the outisde with some green writing. on the inside, as well as the inside of the band being green. the analogue display is almost identical to the 1A2, except the hands are white, whereas the digital display is bright green, with black letters and numbers.

    GRB-100-1A4

Finally, you have the GRB100-1A4. This is quite eyecatching because unlike the 1A2 and 1A3, the GR-B100-1A4 has a rose gold motif throughout the outside, and inside the display. The band is black, with orange on the inside. In the display, we've got white, extra-large analogue hands and markers, along with a negative digital display, that puts rose gold letters and numbers on a black background.

That's enough about looks, time to get to the all new functions!

First up, this is a Bluetooth watch. What this means, is you can connect the watch to your phone in order to have the correct time. But that's only the beginning! Using the all-new G-Shock Connected app, you're able to configure the countdown alarm, which will let you know if you're enroute to a specific waypoint, or if you're running behind.

You can also use the feature to record and store a flight log of the distance travelled as well as the travel time of your flight. Absolutely essential for pilots!

Now, going back to time changing, if you find yourself without a phone, or if something happens with the bluetooth connectivity (rare but you can't rule it out), you're still easily able to get the correct time, no matter where you are. That's due to the watch also being Radio Controlled, and getting a satellite signal from up to 6 satellites around the world.

You don't have to worry about changing your batteries when it comes to this series. The GRB100 have a tough solar battery, which means as long as there's any light, you can use it to charge up the watch. There's even a battery level indicator that'll show you if you're close to running out of power.

The display also underwent some sprucing up. Unlike the previous Gravity Masters we've had, Casio added two new functions. First up, there's the hand shift feature, so that the hands don't obstruct the digital view. Simply move the hands out of the way, then when you exit the feature, they'll go back to where they're supposed to.

The final function I'll highlight is one that has only been available in a limited number of watches. It is the Dual LED Display. Unlike most analogue/digital combos, the Dual LED lights up both the analogue, and the digital display, letting you see the time wherever you prefer. It's also quite useful if you're finding it hard to read the screen.

The GR-B100 is coming soon to BuyWatchesOnline. In the meantime, check out our other Gravitymaster watches here!

Until Next Time - Jimmy B

  8. Take a chance on the BA-110CH Casio Baby-G Chance Series!

Take a chance on the BA-110CH Baby-G Chance Series!

Welcome back to our Coming Soon page, where today, I'll be highlighting the all-new BGA-110CH Series of Baby-G Watches! A collaboration between Casio, and Italian design company PUNTO IT DESIGN, the BA110CH Looks to be a great new addition to the BA110 series. Ready to see what I mean? Then let's get to it!

    ba-110ch-1a
First up is the BA-110CH-1A. This is a black watch, with dark purple ribbons all over the band. It's analogue and digital, with a very large face, hands and hour markers. The cog moving the hands is bright pink, and the hour markers themselves are salmon coloured, with pink highlights on the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock marks. The differing colours really make them stand out, so you'll easily see the analogue time.

For the digital side, the display is pretty much a smaller version of the GA-110 series, with the day/date showing at the top, and the time at the bottom of the screen. It is a negative display, so you'll have a black background with white letters on the screen.

    ba-110ch-3a

Next up we have the green BA-110CH-3A. The band is green, with greyish-white ribbons intersped throughout. The interesting thing about the design here, is the green watch looks almost like it doesn't have a glass covering the display, which makes the screen really pop out when you're reading the time.

The hour markers are a mixture of grey and orange, matching the cog moving the hands. While these hour markers do look smaller than in the black version of the watch, the mixture of colours makes it really easy to see the analogue time. The digital again uses a negative display, with the writing getting a bluish tint to it, still on a black background.

    ba-110ch-7a

Finally, we have the BA-110CH-7A. This is more of a classic design, with a white band and rose gold covered ribbons flowing throughout. The rose gold also continues inside the display, with all of the hour markers being surrounded by a rose gold tint. The cog moving the analogue hands is a mixture of white and purple, which goes along with the hands and hour markers.

Unlike the previous two models described, the BA-110CH-7A has a normal display, with dark letters on a grey background, so if you're not a fan of negative display, the 110CH-7A is the one you'd be after. The rose gold in the background also looks a lot like the BA-110-7A1, making this a great replacement watch.

So those are the looks, lets talk functions! One thing people complain about is the LED Light, and how it turns off too quickly to read the time at night. In order to offset this, Casio had the hands treated with a neobrite solution, which means all you need to do is hit the light button once, and when it turns off, the hands and hour markers will remain glowing, making it easy to read the time at night.

If you've ever had to sit an exam (and chances are, you have), you know how hard it is to keep track of the time. Before you know it, it's time to put those pens down, and you haven't even had a chance to proofread! Well, the BA110CH attempts to help you there. These watches come with a countdown function, so all you need to do is sit down, turn on that function, and just glance at the watch from time to time to make sure you're staying ahead of schedule.

If you like to stay physical, a sturdy watch is essential, so the BA110CH has you covered there. Part of the Baby-G shock series, they're 100m shock and water resistant. Feel free to run, jump, train and even swim with the watch (though make sure you don't press any buttons while submerged, as that will break the waterproof seal.

Well, there you have it. Take a chance on Casio's BA-110CH series, coming soon to BuyWatchesOnline!

Until Next Time - Jimmy B!

  9. Introducing the Casio G-Shock Blackout Series

Introducing the Casio G-Shock Blackout Series!

Hello and welcome to this week's super-sized Casio Preview Post. Today, we'll be looking at the all-new Blackout edition, and you might want to buckle up, because there are ELEVEN models to get through. So if you're ready, let's get to it!

    G-100bb-1a

First up iss the G-100BB-1A, Now, as you can see, it's a much leaner version of the original GA-100, with te analogue time at the top of the display, and a digital time at te bottom. Removing all the clutter makes the time easier to read. The hands and hour markers have a Neobrite solution, so when the light hits them, they'll keep glowing for a while.

Aside from being 200m water resistant and shock resistant, the G-100BB is also magnetic resistant, so you're able to go anywhere with the watch. If you like to travel, there's also a dual time feature, letting you see the time at home, as well as overseas.

    GX-5600BB-1

Next up we have the GX-56BB-1. This one is fully digital, so the numbers are much larger than the analogue/digital combo watches. If you still have trouble seeing the numbers (maybe the screen is too dark for you?) turn on the backlight, and the entire screen lights up.

You'll notice that the GX-56BB is a bit more blocky. That's because it was designed to withstand impact from all directions, making the watch extra-tough. On top of that, it's also mud resistant, so it's suitable to wear in any environment.

A feature that people will really enjoy is that the GX-56BB is Solar Powered. This means you don't have to worry about changing the batteries. Simply ensure that the watch gets some light every day. There's even a battery level indicator, so you'll know if you're running low.

    GD-120BT-1

Next up on our list is the GD-120BT-1. Known as the textured series, you'll be forgiven for thinking this has a leather band, but that's just the texture of the band, thanks to the special mold when forming the case and band.

Another fully digital model, the writing is given enough room that even if you have bad eyesight, you'll still easily see the time. And at night, the backlight lights up the entire screen, making things even easier. Speaking of which, if you turn on the auto light feature, then tilt you wrist about 45 degrees, the backlight will turn on automatically, so you don't have to blindly try to find it in the dark.

While this watch isn't solar powered like the GX, the battery here is still a lot better than most, giving you a 7 year battery life. The watch also has a multi time display, giving you the time in 4 different cities.

    GA-110BT-1A

The GA-110BT-1A is next on our list. This combines the leather feel of the GD-120BT, and the looks of the GA-110 Series. If you're familiar with the GA-110s you'll know it's an analogue/digital combo watch. With this version, the analogue hands and markers are a bit thicker, helping you see the analogue time. If you turn on the backlight, the analogue hands will also light up, making it helpful at night.

The main features here are a 1/1000-sec stopwatch (which can be used to measure the speed of your laps), as well as magnetic resistance. That's on top of your usual 200m water resistance and shock resistance. The watch can be worn anywhere.

    GA-100BT-1A

Rounding out the textured watches in this blackout range is the GA-100BT-1A. The leather feel of this model is preferred by some, who don't like the look of a normal resin band. The analogue hands and markers are extra-thick in order to help you see the time.

The GA-100 series revolutionised the Analogue/Digital combo watches, and you'll find all of these features in the GA-100BT. That includes the protection from the elements, shock resistance, and a magnetic resistance.

    GA-100BBN-1A

If you're not a fan of the resin at all (even textured resin), then you might want to check out the GA-100BBN-1A. I won't bore you by rehashing all the features here, but the band itself is a nylon band, making it quite comfortable to wear no matter the season (let's face it, leather and resin can sometimes be a literal pain to get off a sweaty wrist).

Now, while it is a nylon band, it's actually extra-strong, because it uses a fabric called Cordura Nylon. This type of material is both light and strong, as well as being resistant to stretching and scratches. The materials are the same as what's used to make outdoor gear and luggage, so you know they'll pull their weight in all situations.

    DW-6900BBN-1A

If you're more of a digital buff, but you like the idea of a nylon band, you're sure to get excited for our next model - the DW-6900BBN-1. Fully digital, the basic black motif will fit right in with any clothing, and even doing missions/drills in the army. The numbers have a lot of room, and if you can't see them, simply turn on the backlight to light up the entire screen.

The cool thing about the DW-6900s is that you can see if any of your features are turned on (helpful if you've done it by accident). Simply turn them off to preserve power, or on the flipside, turn that alarm on, if you've accidentally forgotten (happens more often than you'd think)!

    DW-5600BBN-1A

The last in the Nylon Blackout Series is the DW-5600BBN-1. This is a bit of a mixture between nylon and resin, with a resin case and bezel supporting the extra-strong nylon band. The band holder is stainless steel, giving you the added assurance that the band will not just rip/break off.

The 5600 series itself was the first ever G-Shock, and has an even larger digital window, making the numbers and any letters extra-large.

    DW-6900BB-!A

Prefer to go with the Resin band instead? You're in luck here as well, with the DW-6900BB-1. The matte black of the band allows the form of the watch to come out, giving it n almost 3D effect. The buckles, and buttons here are ion black, making them shine and helping you locate them in the dark.

    DW-5600Bb-1A

The other Digital resin watch is the DW-5600BB. Just like the 6900, the resin band is so dark and thickly layered, that the outline of the watch gives it a 3D effect. The screen, band and bezel are all sunlight resistant as well, so when the sun hits the screen, it won't be impossible to see the time.

    AW-591BB-1A

Finally, the last watch in the Blackout series, is the AW-591BB-1A. Now, this is an analogue/digital combo but it's based on the earlier models, so it's not too oversized. The black band and bezel match the ion black plated buttons and buckles, making the shape of the watch stand out.

As with the G-100BB, the hands and markers are treated with a neobrite solution, which means if you shine a light on them, they glow in the dark for a long time afterwards. The watch is also 200m water resistant and shock resistant, so you'll be able to go anywhere without worrying that the watch will break.

Well, there you have it! Thanks for sticking with me for this extra-long special edition. Until Next Time - Jimmy B

  10. Introducing the All New GD-120NC Casio G-Shock Digial Series

Introducing the All New GD-120NC Casio G-Shock Digial Series

With Analogue/Digital combos being all the rage, the Digital G-Shock isn't getting much love. The GD-120NC series aims to correct this, with their Marvel Inspired updates to the GD-120 Series! Both designs in this series mirror some of the most popular superhero costumes! So let's get to it.

    GD-120NC-2

First up is the GD120NC-2D. Evoking Classic X-Men leader Cyclops' colours, this dual coloured watch has a blue and yellow band, with the outside body also being blue, while the writing and buttons are yellow. The display is a regular grey with black numbers, so they're easy to read.

    GD-120NC-4

Then you've got the GD-120NC-4DR. Now, if you're an Avengers fan, there is no way you can miss the homage to Iron Man's classic red and gold suit. It is in fact a replacement for the GA-110CS-4A, which was a limited edition watch. As with the GD-120NC-2, the red and yellow are mixed throughout the band, bezel, and writing, giving the watch a unique look.

So, now that we've discussed the aesthetics, let's talk about some of the features. First up, as mentioned before, this series is fully digital, which is great if you like going out. See, until Casio came up with the Dual LED light function, Digital watches had one function that combo watches did not – when you turn on the backlight, the whole screen lights up, letting you see the time. Great at night, and in dark rooms.

And speaking of the backlight, the watches were designed by graphic artist Thomas Marecki (also known as Marok, which also explains the superhero homage). He's added a special feature not seen in any other G-Shocks, so when the backlight turns on, you'll see a graphic saying “No Comply”. Definitely a unique feature.

Now, unlike quite a few of my previous articles, this series is not solar powered. That's ok though, considering it has an extra-tough 7 year battery life. This way you only rarely need to go and get the battery changed.

The GD-120NC series is extra-tough, just like all Casio G-Shocks. It has shock resistance, so you can drop it without damaging the internal systems, and you can even dive up to 200m, as long as you don't press any buttons while submerged.

The last cool feature I'll talk about is the Multi-Time. While usually, you'd only have dual time (letting you change the home time from one city to another), multi-time ups the ante and lets you see the time in up to 4 cities. That means if you're travelling, all you need to do is set up your watch beforehand, then press a button, to get the local time wherever you are.

Well, there you have it. The GD120NC series is coming soon to BuyWatchesOnline!

Until Next Time – Jimmy B
