  1. Coming Soon: Baseball Meet G-Shock With the New Era X G-Shock GM110NE-1A

At first glance, G-Shocks and Baseball have nothing in common, but if you think about it, this collaboration embodies what Casio G-Shocks are all about. New Era has been around for over 100 years now, and Casio's watches, they're tough enough to stick around just as long! In today's column, I'll be discussing the all new GM110NE-1A. Ready? Here We Go!

    GM-110NE-1A_l

Now, as you can see, right at the bottom of the band, it says 1920-2020. As mentioned, that is how long New Era has been supplying people with sportswear. Heck, the baseball cap design they created, has been around since 1954. I guess that's one difference though, between New Era and G-Shocks - Casio's designs evolve every so often.

The bezel is black ion plated, which protects the display even more than a stainless steel bezel. The hands and hour markers are gold, and the digital display is actually regular, not negative, which makes it easier to see the time.

The inside of the band is green, and looks like the inside of the New Era Cap. However, it also comes with a different band, which is semi transparent, and is easily interchangeable (so you can put on whichever band you feel like.

If that's not impressive enough, the gold plated back, with the New Era logo really makes it stand out from the pack. Now that we've talked about the looks, let's see what features we've got.

First up, this is based on the GA-110 series, which is automatically a great sign. It's not only 200m water resistant, as well as shock resistant, but it's also resistant to magnetic waves, making it stay accurate even around lots of electrical equipment.

Another great feature that carried over, is the 1/1000-sec stopwatch. This type of stopwatch is so accurate, the judges at the Olympics use one when timing athletes. There's even a speed measurement option, which can give you a rough estimate of your speed depending on how long each lap is.

As mentioned before, the watch is resistant to 200m water pressure, so if you feel like going for a swim, feel free to keep it on your wrist. As long as you don't press the buttons while submerged (or the watch is wet), this timeepiece will keep on ticking!

There you have it folks, the GM110NE-1A is coming soon, for a VERY limited time, to BuyWatchesOnline!

Until Next Time - Jimmy B!

  2. Best Casio Summer Watch 2020

Well, 2020 is almost over, so I figured we'd end this weird year on a slightly different note. That's why, I'll be talking about the best Summer Watch to get. Now, depending on what you like to do in the summer, that can be a huge range of watches, so if you're ready... Let's Get To It!

    bg169m-1

For the looks: Casio Baby-G BG-169M-1DR - If you want a summer watch that looks good, there's actually a few things that you need to think about; will it stay looking good? How heavy does it need to be? In this case, not heavy at all (only 46g) and it's hard to get a black band dirty, so ladies, if it's just for appearances, I'd recommend the simple BG-169M-1. The screen protectors also help make sure display doesn't get damaged.

    BSA-B100-7A

For Fitness (for kids): Casio Baby-G BSAB100-7A - Now, you'll notice I said for kids, and that's because there's another one coming for the adults as well, but let's start here first. The BSAB100-7A is a Bluetooth compatible watch, which will let you connect to the phone to set the exact time. On top of that, it's a fitness watch, with a pedometer, letting you keep an eye on how many steps you've done.

    gbd-800uc-8

For Fitness (for adults): Casio G-Shock GBD800UC-8 - For the adults version, I decided to go with the Digital version, the GBD800UC. That's only because it's a lot easier to read, and the screen is much larger, so you can easily keep an eye on your stopwatch or your steps, without needing to slow down.

    blx570-7

For Surfing (for kids): Casio Baby-G BLX570-7 - Again a Baby-G that boys and girls can wear, this is a great surfing watch. By putting in the low tide and high tide time, this watch can predict the tides for up to 12 hours, making it a very useful practice watch. Plus, it's digital, so if you have a hard time seeing the time, all you need to do is press the light button, and the entire screen gets lit up.

    g9100-1_xlarge

For Surfing (for adults): Casio Gulfman G-Shock G9100-1 - For our last watch, I went with the G-9100-1 for two reasons. First, because it's got a black band it's harder to scratch, so it'll stay looking newer for longer. Secondly, out of all of our digital watches, this has been the best seller to date. You can change the moon phase, set high tide and low tide, and thanks to the 200m water resistance, you can even swim with the watch on.

There you have it, our top Summer Watches. Until Next Time, Happy New Year - Jimmy B

  3. Coming Soon The Casio G-Shock Metal AWM500D and DG series

Welcome back to our blog. Sometimes, you want a watch you can wear at a work function, or you want one that looks more expensive, in order to impress a friend. Well, pretty soon you'll get that, thanks to the AWM500D and AWM500DG Series. Wanna know what's in store for you with these watches? Let's Get To It!

    AWM500D-1A

First up is the AWM500D-1A. As you can see it's a no frills watch. Stainless steel band and bezel, with dark buttons on the sides for the different modes and functions. It's analogue and digital, with the hands and hour markers being a metallic grey, and the digital display in a stripe at the bottom (between the 5 and 7 hour markers).

    AWM500D-1A8

Next is the AWM500D-1A8. The shine is a bit darker on the band of this watch, but the analogue background is much lighter. Apart from that, the two watches are identical, it's just up to you if you prefer a lighter background, or a darker one.

    AWM500GD-1A

Finally, we have the AWM500GD-9A. This one is Gold Ion Plated, making it look very impressive. The hands and hour are also gold with a bit of red. For any history buffs or collectors out there, you might recognise the style of these watches, as they resemble the first ever Casio G-Shock watch! Despite its impressive array of features, the best thing (to me) is that the display is nowhere near as cluttered as some of the more modern watches.

Well, now that we've had a look at them, what can you do with these watches (aside from obviously telling the time)? First up, it's solar powered. This means you don't have to worry about changing the battery, just make sure the light hits the watch, and you'll be fine.

The hands and hour markers have been treated with a Neobrite substance. This means that at night, with a little exposure to the light, the hands and hour markers will glow in the dark, making it easier to see the time. It also has a dual LED, so both the analogue and digital part will start glowing.

With the hands being so thick, some people might worry that it'll make the digital time hard to see at certain points during the day. Well, thanks to the hand shift feature, that's not the case. One combination of button presses will put the hands in the 12 o'clock position, so you can see the digital time. When you turn off the hand shift feature, they'll move straight to where they were supposed to be.

Australia prides itself on its multiculturalism, and Casio has taken that into account. That's why they made an option to change the language on the day of the week. You can read it in Russian, English, Spanish, French, German and Italian.

There you have it. The AWM500 series is coming soon, to BuyWatchesOnline!

    Until Next Time

  4. Coming Soon - The GM110B-1A Casio G-Shock Watch

Welcome back to the Coming Soon Page - Today, I'll be previewing a brand new watch, that takes its cues almost entirely from the GA-110 Series, and then makes it even tougher! Ready? Here We Go!

    GM110B-1A_800x

This watch has an all black resin band and case. The bezel is the first place where the GM110B differs from the GA-110; It's stainless steel, making it a lot harder to damage. As you've no doubt noticed, the GM110B-1A has very glossy buttons and bezel. Inside the display... well it's kind of like if you've gone to a disco and seen the ever changing strobing lights. The dials are all a mixture of blue, green and purple, so they're certain to get people's attention!

Now let's talk features! If you've ever had a GA-100 or a GA-110, you'll know how good the stopwatch is. It's 1/1000-sec (which is so accurate even judges at the Olympics and Tour de France use a 1/1000-sec stopwatch to get the athlete's most accurate time). Well, have no fear - just because the watch is a GM instead of GA, Casio kept in the powerful stopwatch.

Another feature making the cut is the speed indicator. Simply program the stopwatch with the distance you're running, and when you're done, it will give you an approximate idea of how fast you actually got there.

All G-Shocks are 100m shock resistant, they're also a minimum of 100m water resistant... however, some Casios go above and beyond that protection level. The GM110B-1A is one of those few, and it includes magnetic resistance. Basically, this means even if you work in a place where there's lots of electromagnetic interference, your watch will still work normally.

The GM110B is coming very soon, to BuyWatchesOnline

Until Next Time - Jimmy B

  5. Introducing: The Casio G-Shock Gravity Master GPW2000-1A2

Welcome back to our Model Review page, where today, I'll be spotlighting the latest Gravity Master in the G-Shock series. We just got this baby in stock a few days ago, and already people are gravitating towards it! Ready to find out why? Here We Go!

    GPW-2000-1A2

Let's take a look at this watch. First up you'll notice it's much bigger, reminding you of the Gulfmaster Series, particularly due to the colour choice of the blackish blue bezel. It's also completely analogue, making it a very rare watch these days. The display is extra large to accommodate the compass, the large watch screen, and a smaller world time display on the 6 o'clock dial. The buttons themselves are also extra large, making them easy to see and press.

So, let's take a look at the features. First up, the GPW2000 is Solar Powered! That's right, you don't need to change the battery every year or two. Make sure the watch sees some light, and the most annoying part about having a watch goes out the window.

Now, this is marketed as a GPS watch, but I do have to warn you, it's not EXACTLY what you think. This watch won't show you where you are on the map. Instead, it uses the GPS to automatically set the correct time for you. It's better than Radio Control watches, because this one works anywhere in the world, not just China, Japan and Europe.

OK, so that does sound a tiny bit complicated, but that's fine. If you prefer to ignore the GPS feature, simply connect the watch via Bluetooth, and it will automatically change the time that way too.

G-Shock is known for its toughness, and the GPW2000 is no exception! Apart from being shock resistant and Magnet Resistant, it's also resistant to vibrations. No matter how much the watch shakes due to the environment you're in, it will still work normally. Even if the hands do get mixed up, the watch has a hand correction feature, so the time will go back to EXACTLY what it was supposed to be.

This is a tough watch, meant for tough jobs. It is Available right now at BuyWatchesOnline!

Until Next Time - Jimmy B

    10) Bulova 96A187 - Now, quite a few of you may be unfamiliar with the Bulova series, but they're a completely analogue alternative to the usual watches we sell here. If dad wants to keep it simple, then then 96A187 is the way to go. It has 3D numbers that jump out at you, and the screen isn't cluttered with switches.

This is part of Casio's G-Squad series, created exactly for those who want to stay healthy. It has a pedometer, and can connect to your phone via Bluetooth so dad can send data from watch to the phone, and keep an eye on his progress. Being fully digital also means the entire screen lights up when you turn on the backlight, making it easier to read.

    GWG-1000-1A1

    8) GWG-1000-1A1 - One of a limited edition of Mudmaster watches, this all black time piece is completely weather resistant, solar powered so you don't have to change batteries, and can also automatically set the time in 6 different countries!

    citizen_aw5005-21y

    7) AW-5005-21Y - If you're sick of resin bands (or just don't like the way they feel), this Citizen watch has a green nylon strap, to match the looks of the display. Part of the Eco Drive range, this watch will always run, provided you keep it exposed to light for small parts of the day. The 24 hour clock is also great for those dads used to running on military time.

    DW-5600BBN-1A

    4) DW-5600BBN-1 - Take it from me, dads like to keep it simple, but they also like comfort. The DW-5600BBN-1 is both of those things! It's got a soft Cordura Fabric cloth band, which doesn't irritate the skin, and it's also fully digital. There aren't any switches you need to worry about, there are optional modes but you don't need to use them. Being fully digital also means they're very easy to read for those dads with bad eyesight.

    GW-B5600BC-1B

    3) GWB-5600BC-1B - No you're not seeing double, this watch and the one above it do look pretty similar. The only difference is, this one has bluetooth connectivity. This means you can use your watch to find your phone, as well as use the phone to set the time more accurately.

    bulova-marine-star-chronograph-blue-dial-men_s-watch-96b256

    2) Bulova 96B256 - Known as the marine star watch, this is a great looking watch, that will fit dad's wrist, and it's also 100m water resistant so he can swim with it. Add to that, the safety bar and extender for the band and display, you've got a watch that's almost as sturdy as a G-Shock

    ga-2000-5a

    1) GA-2000-5A  - One of the newer models in Casio's range, this watch is big, has a carbon core structure making it one of the most protected watches in the world, and if your dad doesn't like the band, it's easily interchangeable without needing to worry about pliers and screw drivers.

There you have it, the top 10 Newest Gifts for Father's Day. For a limited time, if you use the code TYDAD20, you get $20 off every watch in the cart, on top of our unbeatable 3 year extended warranty - Now that's a bargain!

  7. Coming Soon - The Casio G-Shock Skeleton Series!

Just in time for Halloween, Casio will be releasing some spooky watches with a skeleton motif! Hold on to your Scooby Snacks while we explore this haunting collection!

    GA700SK-1A

First up is the GA700SK-1A and here’s where the first difference is noticeable right away. Instead of having a black band (like all the other 1A watches do), this is more grey and transparent, keeping up with the ghost motif. Inside the display, there are many shades of grey, from the hands to the hour markers, to the digital text being grey on a black background.

    GA400sk-1a4

Next up we have the GA400SK-1A4. Now, this one does not look as spooky, thanks to its pink bezel, but it does give one advantage to girls/women who have bigger wrists. This watch is made especially for them. This watch keeps the transparent band, though darkens it to make it look as black as you’d expect from a 1A model. The background and bezel however, are pink. This also includes the hands and hour markers. The bright pink actually makes it easier to tell the time, and the digital screen is much bigger, compared to the GA700SK.

    ga400sk-1a9 (1)

Finally we have the GA400SK-1A9. If the 700SK was grey, this one is a ghostly white and completely transparent. The writing on the bezel, and the bezel itself is shades of yellow and green. The hands and hour markers are also yellow, to make them easy to read. Best of all (at least for people who don’t like negative displays), this watch has the regular black on white screen, which is, to some people, easier to read.

Still with me gang? Great, let’s have a look at all the features. Now, if you’ve been following our store, you’ll be familiar with the GA700 series. Considered the top athlete watch until the GA800 came out, one of the most sought after features is the super LED Light. See, with a lot of other ana/digi combos, the backlight only lights up the analogue part, but the super LED Light illuminates the entire screen, making it easier to see the time.

Another great feature is the direct start stopwatch. Before the GA500 and GA700 came along, you’d need to go to a new mode to set up and start your stopwatch, which can get annoying for both trainers, and people training. The GA700, and its SK counterpart, decided to simplify things by adding the start button on the bottom right of your watch. Simply press the button and the watch gets straight into the stopwatch mode. Press it again and it starts! Simple.

Here’s where the GA700 stepped it up though. Not only is it really easy to find and use the stopwatch, they also included a stopwatch alarm. Basically, you can put the time you’re aiming for, start the stopwatch, and if you run slower than you intended to, it’ll start beeping. This is a great feature, especially for athletes!

Well that’s the GA700SK, but let’s see what the GA400SK has in store for us. First up, you’ll notice the rotary wheel on the right of the watch. From the start, you can use it to set your home city without needing to go into the modes. When you’re setting the time, or alarm, instead of using the buttons, you can just use the rotary wheel, which makes things easier.

Apart from having the popular Super LED Light, the watch also has another important feature called Hand Shift. Some people prefer to read the digital time instead of the analogue, but as you can imagine, some hours of the day the hands can cover the digital time. With this Hand Shift feature, you can move the analogue hands out of the way. Then once you’re done, press the button again and the hands go exactly where they were meant to.

One big advantage the GA400 series does have over the GA700 is the magnetic resistance. If you’re in an area with lots of magnetic waves, it can sometimes interfere with the analogue hands, so you get discrepancies between the analogue and digital time. The Magnetic resistance prevents this from happening.

The GA400SK and GA700SK are coming soon to BuyWatchesOnline! Until Next Time - Jimmy B

  8. Introducing the BGA240BC Series of Casio Baby-G Watches!

If you're into fitness, then chances are you've heard of Casio's BGA240 Series of Running Watches. Now, these aren't the pedometer watches normally associated with G-Squad, but they're still perfect for other functions. Ready? Set? Let's Go!

    BGA-240BC-1A

First up is the BGA240BC-1A. This watch is completely black from band to bezel, even the background of the display. The buttons on the side are extra-large and grip your fingers so they don't slip. Basically if you want to hit the mode button, you won't accidentally press anything else.

The display itself is also dark, with only the hands being white, and the hour markers grey, in order to make them easier to see. The hour markers are also long and give a 3D effect, like they're coming out of the screen. The digital display is split with the top showing the date, and the bottom showing the time (similar to the BA-110 and GA-110 series).

    casio-1744-7717321-1

Then we have the BGA240BC-4A. Now, while the 1A was suitable for boys too, this is most definitely a girls watch. As you can see it's a wonderful shade of pink. Inside the display you can see it's mostly pink, with the display being the classic black on white. The hands and hour markers are a shade of white and pink.

So, that's what they look like, but what do the watches actually do? Let's find out! First up, as they are a running watch, there's obviously a stopwatch, but there's also a lap recorder. You can save up to 60 laps and read through them at your leisure to see if you're improving, getting slower, or staying at about the same rate. This recall mode is quite accurate, and it will tell you the dates and times of the previous laps.

If you're going overseas, there's a really cool feature called Dual Time mode. It uses both parts of the digital display to show you the time where you are at the bottom, and the time in another city at the top. Definitely helpful.

The BGA240BC Series is out now on BuyWatchesOnline! Until Next Time - Jimmy B

  9. Introducing the Casio G-Shock GBD800UC Series Utility Colour Step Tracker Watch!

Introducing: The Casio G-Shock Digital GBD800UC Series!

The Casio GBD800 Series has been a real hit with customers, but some people prefer the more muted colours. Casio has them covered, with the Utility Colours series, while making sure to keep all the features people love, exactly as they are. Let’s see what the fuss is all about!

    GBD-800UC-3-0

First up is the GBD800UC-3D. This is considered the military version because of its dark green colours, matching army uniforms. The band and bezel are dark green, with the writing and buttons being completely black. Under the glass it’s a fully digital display, so the numbers and texts are much larger than in the combo watch. The cool thing is, while it’s a negative display, it still incorporates the green motif, with even the numbers and text, instead of being white, are green on a black display.

    GBD-800UC-5-0

Next up is the GBD800UC-5D. This one is more dirt brown, with the text on the band and bezel being black. One thing you’ll notice is the indicator with the Bluetooth sign on the top right corner of the display. There’s markers surrounding it, which show what functions are turned on (that’s a great idea if you want to preserve power). The indicator here is a mix of black and gold. Again the digital display keeps with the motif, with the numbers being brown on a black background.

    ezgif.com-webp-to-jpg (8)

Finally we have the grey GBD800UC-8D. This one is more black than grey, with the writing on the band and bezel being even darker than the band itself. The display here is the closest to a normal negative display, with light grey/white numbers and text on a black background. The mode indicator on the right is made up of different shades of grey.

So, now that we’ve gotten the looks out of the way, let’s see how these watches work. First thing you should know, these are the first Casio Bluetooth watches that are fully digital. One of the best things about full digital watches is the backlight is much more powerful, and lights up the entire screen, making it much easier to see the time.

The GDB800 Is known as the step counter watch. This basically functions as a pedometer, which can’t be fooled by you just moving your arms. It’s got a 3-Axis Accelerometer as well as letting you save up to 200 laps (most watches will only let you save 60 laps). You can use these features to calculate the amount of calories burned as well as for making future plans.

Speaking of future plans, this watch comes with a very special alarm that beeps if it can tell you haven’t done the required amount of walking to reach your goal. So basically like a personal trainer, with the added benefit of not having to pay after every session :)

Now, this watch is Bluetooth enabled, which also gives you an all new range of features, such as being able to change the time of your watch through the phone. That’s a great feature because most of the time, the phone will have the most accurate time.

The GBD800UC Series is HERE at BuyWatchesOnline.com.au

  10. Coming Soon, the First Casio Smart Protrek Outdoor Watch, WSD-F20A-GN

Casio’s had fitness watches, camping watches, even pilot watches, but one thing that’s always been missing is the Smart Watch. Well, very soon this is going to change! Welcome to our blog, and today, I’ll be looking at the WSDF20A-GN. Ready? Let’s Get To It!

First up, I do have to be the bearer of some bad news. Due to this being a smart watch, it’s not as water resistant as others and can only withstand 50m of water pressure. But let’s face it, you don’t get a smart watch to go swimming with it! So, let’s see what it looks like.

    casio-pro-trek-wsd-f20a-gnbae-9776262

The watch has a black outline with an olive green band. On top of the bezel it has Pro Trek, in orange, with other tools including GPS (for the first time ever!), tool and sensor. The display itself is not just fully digital, it’s actually an LCD Display, like you’d see on your monitors or on the smart watches. This makes it a lot easier to see the time, day or night (something that most of our customers have been clamoring for). Heck, you can even change the colour of the numbers to make them easier to read.

There’s not much more to say about the looks, so let’s get into the features, and boy there’s a lot to unpack. First up, this is the first watch to use Google Wear OS (specifically designed for watches). This means you can link the watch to your android phone. Now, I know that might not seem like much (The GBA and GBD Casio models can do the same), but being developed by Google means you can also see your notifications, emails, SMSes, straight on your screen, and that’s not mentioning the original benefits of setting the time on your watch straight through your phone!

Another really great feature (and one heavily requested by our customers) is a GPS. You’ll be able to see EXACTLY where you are on the map, so there’s even less of a chance for you to be lost when hiking. Just take a look at the clarity of the map below.

The watch also has an onboard Microphone, so you can talk to the Google assistant and bring up the features without needing to scroll through them. Being developed by Google also means you can go into the app store and download any newer apps that you’d need. You can even ask for the weather, and it’ll show up straight on your screen.

Just quickly going back to the smart part of the watch, you can use a touch keyboard, or the microphone to respond to any SMS, write a FaceBook post, pretty much whatever you normally use your phone for.

By combining the features of a smart watch with the outdoor tools on normal SportTrek watches, these tools have actually been improved. The Altimeter brings up easy to read information on how long you have to go to reach the summit, the compass works with the above mentioned GPS, and through combining the GPS, compass and Google Calendar, you can actually be guided to your next destination!

I do have one more piece of good news for you though! If you don't want to wait for a GPS watch, we recently acquired the Rangeman GPRB-1000-1B (which I'll cover more in depth next week!)

The Smart WSD-F20 will only be available for a limited time, and is coming soon to BuyWatchesOnline.com.au

Until Next Time - Jimmy B
