A watch for explorers journeying in all sorts of conditions.

The GWN is known by another name, the Gulfmaster, and it certainly takes the Master part seriously. Black with a stainless steel dark blue bezel, the GWN-1000B-1B looks imposing and tough.

The GWN-1000B has what’s known as tough movement. This basically means that if you slip or jostle the watch, while that would usually jostle the analogue hands (making it pretty frustrating on camping trips), tough movement makes sure that the hands stay in place or, if they do get knocked out of place, they would automatically reposition themselves.

The watch is also radio-controlled, meaning that it automatically recalibrates based on where you are, so you don’t need to worry about always setting your watch.

Also tough is the Tough Solar feature. With a panel on top of the display that’s practically invisible unless you actively look for it, your watch will charge itself just by being outside with the minimum amount of light.

Unlike most analogue/digital combos, this watch’s LED light actually lights up both the analogue AND digital display, so you’re easily able to tell the time at night.

    1. Too many features review by on

I gotta watch what I buy lol. I'm not saying the watch is bad, but there are just so many features you can easily get lost! Though I admit I like the idea of a solar powered watch, it's such a pain to always change the batteries.

    2. Spectacular timepiece! review by on

This is a spectacular watch! I love mine. The hands contrast well against the dial during the day so there's no glare, the automatic back-light feature works well, so all I have to do is move my wrist and the light turns on. It's solar powered, so I don't even need to change the batteries! Sure it's a bit pricey but in my opinion worth every cent!

    3. Deep features (pun intended) review by on

Been playing around with this watch since I got it. There are so many features it'll take me ages to go through them all, but my favourites so far are the 200m water resistance (though that was a given since it's a diving watch!), the tough movement (which I accidentally tested... but at least I know it works, and after I bumped the watch, the hands went back into alignment almost straight away!).

Also honorable mention to the Dual LED. I usually have trouble reading the display at night, even when the watch comes with a backlight, but I had no problems here.
