The GA-1000 is a watch Casio created specifically for explorers and survivalists. It has features dedicated to keeping you safe and making sure you return home at the end of the day. 

One feature is a digital compass.  When this mode is turned on, the hands automatically adjust themselves to show you what direction you’re facing. The square display on the side will even tell you your bearings (ie if you’re facing north, north west, south east etc…). 

To help you explore, the digital compass is paired up with a bearing memory. Just like it sounds, the bearing memory remembers what direction you were facing when you turned on the compass before, and shows you whether you’re moving in the same direction. 

If you’re stuck outside and you can’t see the time due to the darkness, you can turn on the Neobrite backlight. Different from the normal backlight, this is a blacklight that contrasts with the UV paint that the hands were dipped into; giving it a more colourful and brighter look.
